big giant circleshttp://www.biggiantcircles.com |
Big Giant Circles (a.k.a. "BGC) is a one-man-band composed of Jimmy Hinson, of Knoxville, TN. Beginning early with 8 years of piano lessons starting at age 5, then later picking up the ways of the acoustic guitar, he has always had an interest in music composition and arrangement. In effort to learn and better himself at such, BGC practices often by remixing video game music, usually classic themes that had low and limited sound quality as a result of the modulation capabilities of early video game systems such as the classic NES or Nintendo Gameboy. As a lover of gaming, and with the advancement of synthesized music and audio compression, BGC both remixes and composes original music in hopes that he will attain a skill that will enable him to achieve a career in it. He desires to obtain an education in audio engineering to help achieve that goal, as well as (hopefully) establishing a solid network in the industry. |

Dhsuhttp://personal.utulsa.edu/~david-hsu/index2.htm |
Dhsu has been playing piano since he was 5, and has been playing video games for almost as long. It's therefore natural that the two activities would come together at some point, in the form of arranging video game music. Specializing in solo piano arrangements, Dhsu has been an active member of the OverClocked ReMix, VGMix, Anime Remix, and OneUp Studios communities, with multiple arrangements on each site. He has also contributed to various other arrangement projects such as Kong in Concert and Bound Together, as well as the upcoming Summoning of Spirits and Voices of the Lifestream. |

He is a product of Fairfax County Public Schools; won the 6th grade spelling bee (even though his typing skills betray this victory often); votes Democrat; doesnt believe in god(s); both loves and makes music; will drive a convertible of some kind for the rest of his life; eats unhealthily; watches anime, subtitled films, unsubtitled films, and basketball; reads; writes; codes in C#, Java, PHP, VB.NET, XML, and XSLT; is a Photoshop junkie; doesnt compromise often; has high expectations; and endeavours above most everything to not be hypocritical. But rarely in that order. |
DrumUltimAhttp://www.peabodypercussion.com |
Doug Perry (a.k.a. "DrumUltimA") hails from West Hartford, Connecticut and currently studies percussion at the Peabody Conservatory of Music- only two doors away from pixietricks! Although he was raised in a very musical household, it was not until nine years of age that he picked up his first drumstick. Doug is a double major in jazz and classical performance specializing in improvisation, but has always been a video game music aficionado, and enjoys a great deal of VG music in his repertoire. |
FFmusic Djhttp://www.ffmusic.net |
Haroon Piracha (a.k.a. "FFmusic Dj") is a sound designer, composer, and has been a fan of the Final Fantasy series since as far as he can remember. When Final Fantasy VII came out, it became an instant favorite, and he has been remixing music and playing video games ever since. He is actually looking for work in the industry: a sound design position! Currently, he is working at E.A. of Los Angeles as a game tester. It is unfortunate that he cannot discuss which game I he is working on, but since it is a temporary position, he will be switching soon! |

JigginJonThttp://www.championvinyl.net/jon.html |
JigginJonT, otherwise known as Mr. Jon Titterington, is one of the junior judges on the panel but has proven his worth to the site several times over. Being a proficient guitarist, keyboardist, and vocalist, Jon's alternative rock-inspired ReMixes are among the more creative and unique on the site... though no one will forget the immortal "Enter the Frog"! |
Leis Miller |
Leis Miller is former roomate of OC ReMixer silent. He currently studies music through osmosis. Channelling the energy and sophistication of power pop ballads of the 1980s, Leis's music has been regarded by critics as transcendant, guttural, and emotionally raw. His misery is your ecstacy. |
Liontamerhttp://oc.ormgas.com/links.php?18 |
Larry "Liontamer" Oji has been a judge at OverClocked ReMix since July 2004, having evaluated in excess of 1,500 submissions. Liontamer is responsible for primary submissions evaluations, informational database maintenance and other otherwise sundry & unsexy tasks at OCR. He also hosted the VG Frequency radio program for 4 years out of Atlanta's Emory University, focused on rearranged VGM and original compositions from the ReMixing community. Larry is currently recruiting artists for the Tim Follin tribute project "Dirge for the Follin." His own musical attempts, though very irregular, have been considered godly. |
pixietrickshttp://www.jilliangoldin.com |
Jillian Goldin (a.k.a. pixietricks)'s musical pursuits began at the ripe age of six when her first track was released: the infamous "Rainforest Song". Recorded in her fathers basement studio, the song was "mysteriously" discovered and selected to be played during the closing credits of an Omni Theater film at Bostons Museum of Science. Twelve years later, Jill began her undergraduate opera studies at Peabody Conservatory of Music. She joined the remixing scene in spring 2005 with Zelda64 "Prayer" and has since been working on some collaborations, solo work, and VGDJ: The Official OverClocked ReMix Podcast. Her classical studies have provided her a strong foundation in vocal performance, but she is also interested in breaking into the mainstream music scene particularly New Age and World Fusion. |
Shael Riley (a.k.a. Disk Mastah Smokabitch)http://www.shaelriley.com |
Shael Riley - who is absolutely not the same person as Disk Mastah Smokabitch - is a true pillar of the OverClocked ReMix community, having written the site's greatest opus, "The Music of My Groin." He has since written a slew of remixes both for OCReMix and OLReMix, a site which he co-founded. Lately, he has been performing his original and arranged music live and touring in the nerdcore scene. |
smh |
Sam M. Huse (a.k.a. "smh") has been a staff member at VGMix since the site's second incarnation. Aside from infrequent video game music arrangements (see "Treetop Rock" from Kong in Concert), Sam's music frequently consists of occasional EP releases and Kwakfest shorts under both the "smh" handle and another alter-ego "qaid". |

After participating in the Doom project and running the Original ReMixing Contest, he became tired of hearing bad music and decided to become a judge/martyr to stop it in its tracks. He now has several remixes released under his name, and is working on an upcoming Doom 2 project with several other mixers. |
zirconhttp://www.zirconstudios.com |

A student of the music industry at Drexel University in Philadelphia, zircon has also been actively writing and producing original material.
